We do all sorts at Pete Jessop Decorating Services and we do it well. We pride ourselves on getting the job done to a high standard. We offer a number of services and are happy to discuss your entire project and see how we can assist in a number of ways. Some of what we do:
Interior decorating
Whether it be one or several rooms, we will work with you from the estimate/quote stage right through until the project is finished. We can discuss colours, finishes and any issues that might arise. If anything is discovered during the decorating process, for example damp, failed plaster, then we will continue to work alongside you until the issue is resolved. We are able to call on other trades to help - ones we work with and trust. We can direct you where to look for the right colours and inspiration and also tell you what products we could use. At all times we will keep you informed as to how the process is progressing and invite feedback at any time.
Exterior decorating
Here at Pete Jessop Decorating Services we are equipped to take on small project exterior decorating. This includes some small low level exterior house painting, sheds, summerhouses, garage doors. We are experienced in using the correct products that best suit the job and trade products that will last for years. We can advise you about the preparation processes we need to adopt in order to get the best out of your chosen paint.
Dustless sanding
The very best decorating requires a differing degree of repair work to surfaces prior to decorating. This could mean filling holes, skimming surfaces, taping cracks or repairing damaged or rotting wood surfaces. In order to do this properly it is then necessary to sand the surface to make it smooth ready to paint. This, particularly with renovated substrates, can be a messy process. As your health, and indeed our health, is important to us, we have invested in the very best equipment to ensure your house - not just the room that is being decorated - stays as clean and dust free as possible. We think you get a better finish with dustless sanding. It saves time too.
Wallpapering
We offer various wallpapering services including full room wallpapering, paper removal and wall preparation for painting existing wallpaper. If removing the wallpaper might expose underlying wall issues, painting over it can be a great alternative—provided the wallpaper is in good condition. This doesn't just mean applying a coat of paint; we take a thorough approach. We lightly sand the surface, reattach any loose sections, fill and sand the seams, apply a professional-grade wallpaper primer and sealer, and then paint as usual. Customers who have chosen this option have been consistently satisfied, with the finished result looking seamless. Of course, we also offer full wallpaper removal, addressing any underlying issues before preparing the walls for decorating.
Wall panelling
We offer professional wall paneling services to add style, depth and character to any space. Whether you’re looking for traditional wainscoting, modern slat panels or custom designs, we ensure a high-quality finish tailored to your vision. Our process includes precise measuring, expert installationand seamless finishing to create a polished, long-lasting look. Small repairs to surfaced prior to painting
Got damaged external wall corners? Got uneven walls ? Got lumps and bumps out of your walls? We will sort these out prior to any decoration and is included as part of our normal preparation.
Project management
We can go above and beyond just decorating. If something is required before decoration can commence, for example a ceiling to be plastered or pipes to be boxed in, here at Pete Jessop Decorating Services we can sort that for you. We may do it ourselves or if we can't we will oversee another trade to come in and sort it out. This is usually extra to your decoration cost but we will ensure we put you in touch with the right trades - ones we work with and trust.
Estimate
You may not realise the costs involved in having all or part of your house decorated. Employing a decorator extends far beyond them buying a tin of paint and painting the wall with it - well, it should do. Here at Pete Jessop Decorating Services we use only the best and most suitable trade quality paint purchased locally. But before we even get to open a tin of paint, we will assess your room and advise you what preparation is required. Don't be surprised if the preparation takes a day...at least.
So to manage your expectations, Pete Jessop Decorating Services are happy to provide you with a pre-quote estimate. There is no obligation when you receive this estimate, we won't even call you if you don't want us to. The estimate is designed to give you an idea of what costs will be involved. If you're happy with the indicative figure, then we can come to your property, have a discussion with you about what you want and then prepare a full, no obligation, quote which will be sent to you, usually by email.
